World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2025: Our Commitment at Venus Remedies
World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2025 at Venus Remedies highlights leadership, collaboration, and responsible action against AMR.
Every year, the world comes together from 18–24 November to observe World Antimicrobial Awareness Week—a global movement dedicated to understanding antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and encouraging the responsible use of antibiotics.
At Venus Remedies Ltd., this week is more than an observance. It is a reminder of the responsibility we carry as part of the healthcare ecosystem and the impact our work has on patients, clinicians, and communities.
AMR remains one of the most urgent public health challenges today because when bacteria stop responding to antibiotics, even common infections become harder to treat. Further, this silent threat grows faster because of irrational antibiotic use, delayed or incorrect diagnoses, and a widespread lack of awareness.
What World Antimicrobial Awareness Week Means for Us at Venus Remedies?
For us, this week brought an opportunity to reinforce the principles we follow every day. Being one of India’s trusted names in critical care and anti-infective therapy, we understand the importance of preserving the power of antibiotics for future generations.
So,we dedicated ourselves to strengthening our internal awareness and extending the conversation to our partners, customers, and the larger community.
We engaged our teams through thoughtful discussions on:
- Why antimicrobial resistance continues to rise
- How irrational antibiotic use accelerates the problem
- The importance of accurate diagnosis and infection prevention
- The role each employee, clinician, and partner plays in stewardship
Our goal was simple: Stay AWAKE to AMR—stay aware, stay responsible, and stay committed.
Driving Awareness – Our Initiatives Against AMR
While awareness begins with understanding, it becomes meaningful only when translated into action. Throughout the week, our communication emphasised the need for collective responsibility. AMR cannot be solved by hospitals alone or by pharmaceutical firms alone. It demands a united, multi-sector approach. With platforms like AWAKE India, we used this week to remind ourselves and our audiences that every small step matters. Along with this, our team at Venus Remedies also took some focused steps to increase awareness:
Collaborative Efforts with the doctors
We also reached out to doctors to know their thoughts on AMR and educating people. The issues were articulated clearly by leading names in the industry like Dr. Sanmay Choudhary (Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune), Dr. Pramod Sood (Professor & Head – Department of Critical Care Medicine, Geetanjali Hospital & Medical College, Udaipur), Dr. Aklesh Tandekar, (Head Consultant – Critical Care, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai), Dr. Hukum Chand Sharma, (Head – Critical Care & Emergency Medicine, Mangalam Medicity Hospital, Jaipur), Dr. Neeraj Kumar Tulara (Book Your Doc Speciality Clinic, Mumbai)
They all highlighted the increasing burden of AMR and the role each one of us plays in fighting it. The message is simple yet powerful:
Use antibiotics carefully, prevent infections before they start, and educate people on the responsible use of these medicines.
Management Initiatives
As part of our leadership-led commitment to AMR awareness, Mr Saransh Chaudhary, CEO, VMRC & Strategic Board Advisor cum President, Global Critical Care, played an active role in amplifying the message against this growing threat by speaking on several leading platforms:
Our thoughts on AMR were featured in the national media, as expert perspectives from our leadership were published in Hindustan Times.
Being a frontrunner in the battle against AMR, Mr Saransh Chaudhary also shared his insights on the increasing risk of antimicrobial resistance through a podcast, reinforcing the World AMR Awareness Week theme—Act now to protect our present and secure our future, as the effectiveness of antibiotics continues to be challenged by AMR.
Campaigns at Hospitals
Our team also organist AMR awareness campaigns at various hospitals across India. During these sessions, doctors unveiled the AMR Awareness banner and spoke about the growing concern of resistance, while also highlighting the critical role of paramedical staff in prevention and control.
While the campaign was successfully executed across multiple locations, some of the hospitals included Jain Medical Center and Anand Hospital.
Conferences & Panels
In addition to on-ground initiatives, Venus Remedies continued its engagement at national and international forums focused on antimicrobial resistance. We actively participated in conferences and discussions that bring together policymakers, academia, and industry leaders to address AMR collaboratively.
Venus Remedies shared its perspective at the Pharma Chintan Shivir on the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) landscape in India, engaging with stakeholders on the urgent need for coordinated action.
Alongside this, Venus also joined the panel discussion on strategies to combat superbugs at the AMR Next 2025 conference.
Such initiatives reflect Venus Remedies’ continued commitment to advancing responsible antimicrobial innovation and contributing to a resilient healthcare ecosystem—one that ensures effective therapies reach patients while preserving their long-term effectiveness.
Conclusion
At Venus Remedies, our work in critical care and antibiotic innovation is guided by science, stewardship, and patient safety. Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2025 reaffirmed why this commitment is so important. By understanding AMR better and using antibiotics wisely, we can protect the effectiveness of lifesaving medicines for years to come.
As we continue the fight against antimicrobial resistance, remember what this week advocates: Let’s stay alert. Let’s stay responsible. Let’s stay AWAKE. Together, we can fight AMR.
